Peggy Sammon

Peggy is a serial high tech and social entrepreneur who has co-founded or led numerous technology companies and non-profits. She has spent her career in high tech and deep tech startups, including remote environmental monitoring, 5G ultrawideband wireless communications, and now pathogen detection. Peggy enjoys idea creation, start-up energy, establishing a strategic vision, working with innovative scientists and engineers, and commercializing new products. Her experience includes patenting, licensing and selling technologies and companies. Peggy is an active mentor to other start-ups and is the former Chair of BIO Alabama. She also co-founded or Chaired several non-profits including Village of Promise and Rocket City Civil Rights. Peggy grew up in Canada, lived in Australia, helped to build 4 companies in Alabama and is now running GeneCapture at HudsonAlpha. She is currently serving on the Governor’s Alabama Innovation Commission.
