Paul Lienert tracks the future of transportation, including the electrification, automation and digitalization of the automobile, as well as corporate and venture investment in transportation-related startups. Lienert earned a Doctor of Business Administration degree from Nottingham Trent University in the UK in 2012. His doctoral dissertation was on venture funding of electric vehicles. Prior to joining Reuters in 2012, Lienert was president and co-founder of Global Auto Systems, a management consulting practice and information services provider. Lienert has researched, written and edited studies on the auto industries in China, Russia, Brazil, India and Thailand. His articles have appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Financial Times and the South China Morning Post.
