He is responsible for managing strategic growth of the Medical Device Biomaterials portfolio. Formerly as Director of Innovation for Evonik Health Care, Balaji was one of the first members instrumental in setting up of this Medical Device Competence Center (MDCC) in Birmingham, Alabama which was an internal startup funded by Evonik Corporate & Business Lines. This center is also the 3D printing Center of Excellence for bioresorbable polymers developing cutting edge biomaterial solutions for medical device applications.  Balaji has more than 15 years of experience within the medical device and biomaterials markets, with various leadership roles from concept to commercialization executing platform innovation through successful commercialization.  He holds Graduate degrees in Materials Science Engineering, Executive Technology Mgmt., and an Executive MBA in Innovation & Technology Management.
